Visit of Qalam Institute

Yesterday, Tuesday 25 June, we had the honour of welcoming to the Great Mosque of Granada a group of Muslims from Dallas, USA, led by Shaykh AbdelNasir Jangda and Ustadh AbdelRahman Murphy, of Qalam Institute.

Shayjh AbdulNasir Jangda is the founder, director and instructor of Qalam. He is a faculty member at Qalam Seminary where he teaches Sahih Bukhari, advanced Tafseer, Usul, Fiqh, and Balagha. He has completed an extensive study of the life of the Prophet ﷺ in the Seerah Podcast. Every year he teaches the intensive Sirah course and leads Umrah groups.

He is a faculty member at Qalam Seminary, where he teaches Aqidah and Tazkiya, and is active in Qalam's various online programmes.

Born and raised in Chicago, Ustadh AbdelRahman holds a degree in Education and Religious Studies. He has studied traditional Islamic Studies at the Alimiyah level for the past decade with numerous teachers, primarily under the tutelage of Shaykh AbdulNasir Jangda. He has been serving the community full time in various capacities as a youth director, Islamic studies teacher and Imam, as well as director of Roots Community Space. He currently resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife and two children.
